dB Control Celebrates 25 Years of Producing Reliable High-Power TWTAs, MPMs, High-Voltage Power Supplies for Radar, Electronic Warfare, Electronic Countermeasures Applications

Thousands of Power Products from Defense Electronics Manufacturer Performing Reliably in Harsh Environments

dBC_25th_finalFremont, Calif. – March 2, 2015 – dB Control is celebrating its 25th anniversary as an international defense electronics manufacturer. Established on February 28, 1990, the company has remained successful by continuing to meet evolving size, weight and power (SWaP) requirements for reliable performance in extremely harsh environments. Today, the company is well known for its innovative traveling wave tube amplifiers (TWTAs) and microwave power modules (MPMs). A few of the most notable examples include:

  • The industry’s first environmentally sealed, ruggedized, hub-mount TWTA for ECM applications
  • The industry’s first high-power 1kW power output, Pulse, Ka-band TWTA for radar applications
  • The industry’s first lightweight airborne Synthetic Aperture Radar transmitter for military UAVs
  • An MPM providing twice the power of previous MPMs, and with 30 percent more efficiency

“When I started the company in my garage 25 years ago, the mission was to create high-voltage power supplies and TWTAs that were more reliable and less expensive than existing products. We’ve stayed true to that, especially considering the impact our products have on the lives of military personnel. It’s not a responsibility we take lightly. We look forward to the next 25 years of taking care of our customers, our products and our employees,” said dB Control Founder and Chairman Joe Hajduk.

In addition to remaining financially strong through two recessions, dB Control has expanded its facilities to 52,100 feet, landed multiple defense contracts worth tens of millions of dollars, been acquired by HEICO Corporation and acknowledged by Congressman Swalwell for manufacturing expertise. In 2009, the company was named one of the 70 fastest growing private companies by The Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal. The AOC has also honored dB Control and its employees with a Business Management Award, induction into the Electronic Warfare Hall of Fame and recognition in AOC Legacy: The First 50 Years.
