Mechanical Design Engineer

Requirements:

• US Citizenship
• BSME degree, 2yrs  min. manufacturing or equivalent experience
• Competent in engineering handbook calculations for mechanical, structural and thermal analysis
• Experience in environmental testing of hardware – MIL-STD 810G etc. Examples include vibration (sine, random), shock, thermal testing, humidity, acceleration
• Experience in analysis/design software: 3D CAD Solid Works, FEA Femap/NX Nastran-Structural Analysis, CFD (Computer Fluid Dynamics) CFDESIGN-Thermal Analysis

Duties:

• Provide support to responsible engineer(s) and staff for mechanical design, functional compliance, environmental testing/validation, and functional improvement of the mechanical attributes of the end product.
• Design review presentations, both board level and end product level, to internal engineering peer review or customers as required
• Work with Program Managers and Project Engineers to review new product requirements and specifications
• Work with customer mechanical engineering staff to resolve compliance issues regarding specification requirements

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated design & manufacturing experience with various complex products
• Personal computer skills/proficiency  related to documentation, performance specification compliance, and project scheduling
• Familiarity with CAD/CAE software related to modeling, simulation, pcb layout, mechanical packaging are a plus
• Familiarity with MIL-SPEC product design requirements are a plus
• Good communication skills and open to direction as needed
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties typical in a dynamic environment
• Generate accurate and timely documentation (ECO’s)
