High-Performance Microwave Power Modules (MPMs) for Radar, ECM and Data Links for Military Platforms
dB Control's high-efficiency, conduction-cooled MPMs provide extremely dense packaging without sacrificing reliability or performance. Flexible packaging options are available for both continuous wave and pulsed power MPMs. Narrow and wide band MPMs are available in the frequency band of 2-40 GHz. Power levels vary from 50-300 Watts for continuous wave (CW) units and 100-2000 Watts peak for pulsed power units.
The products shown below are only a sample to illustrate capability.
The dB-3814 MPM operates in the 15-18 GHz frequency range and provides 1kW peak power at 7% maximum duty cycle. Featuring excellent amplitude, very low phase noise and reflected power (VSWR) protection, the dB-3814 is equipped for several applications, including airborne synthetic aperture and multi-mode radars.
The dB-4118 is extremely effective for ECM as it features Continuous Wave (CW) as well as pulse waveforms at a repetition frequency (PRF) rate that is more than twice as high as the industry standard 100 KHz. The compact, conduction-cooled MPM uses a high-speed modulator to obtain a pulse modulation of up to 250 KHz, operates in the 6-18 GHz frequency range and provides 100W CW RF output power.
The pulsed dB-3746 is ideal for high-resolution synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and other high-performance radar applications as it features very-low phase noise and spurious, excellent amplitude and phase stability. The db-3746 operating in the 9-10 GHz frequency range, providing 1 kW peak power at 6% maximum duty cycle and +28 VDC prime power.
The dB-3758 MPM is designed for extremely low phase noise radar transmitter applications. The MPM ensures that no signal is lost by utilizing two technologies - synchronization of the power supply switching frequency with a radar system clock and blanking during the pulse. The X-band MPM operates in the 9-10 GHz frequency range and provides 1 kW peak output power at up to 15% duty cycle, while the Ku-Band MPM provides 400 W output power at a 35% duty cycle. Both MPMs are designed to withstand harsh airborne environments.
The dB-3803 high-power MPM provides complete protection for the TWT and power supply. Operating from the aircraft's three-phase, 400 Hz power supply, this MPM provides 300 Watts of continuous wave power in the X- or Ku-Band. An integral EMI filter ensures compliance with MIL-STD- 461 requirements. Pulsed operation is available as an option. The dB-4112, a compact version of the dB-3803, operates in the 6-18 GHz frequency range, providing 100 W continuous wave or pulsed power with 270 VDC prime power.
