QA Engineer | Exempt

Reports to: Director of Quality

The QA Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the
QMS in accordance with ISO 9001/AS 9100 as well as planning and running the
day-to-day operations of the QA department. This person will possess a deep
knowledge of advanced quality techniques and will collaborate daily with members
of all departments including Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and
Manufacturing to ensure quality standards are upheld. The QA Engineer, will
support the management of the workload of the QA Team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Ensure that all procedures meet internal and international quality and
    reliability standards as well as contractual requirements
  •  Ensure all company documentation is compliant with internal and ISO/AS
    standards
  •  Process evaluation, mapping and streamlining for 6S and Lean Kaizens
  • Manage and maintain the CAPA process
  • Train personnel as needed to internal procedures and best practices
  • Mentor QA team members
  • Maintain current AS certification and dB Control’s QMS system
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Responsible for FAIs including use of Net-Inspect when required
  • Integral member of the internal Audit team.
  • Programs quality support and customer interface
  • Product failure investigation. Including 5 WHY’s and Fishbone charts.
  • Provide Production and Inspection support
  • Material review management (MRB, CCB). Tracking and closing non-
    conformance reports. Reviewing and approving design changes.
  • Disposition of customer returns (RMA) and nonconforming material. Review
    and verify reported customer discrepant returns. Support and upgrade as
    needed the Non-Conforming Materials process
  • Member of the Internal audit team
  • Perform contract reviews, purchase order reviews, planning reviews and
    supplier data reviews, to ensure that quality requirements are captured and
    flowed down.

Required Experience

  • 4 years of previous work experience as a Quality Engineer
  • ISO/AS QMS Experience
  • IPC-A-610/J-STD-001 Experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering or
    related field or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of product quality engineering competencies
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing industry (preferably for high
    reliability/military/aerospace products)
  • Understanding of Lean and JIT principles
  • Understanding of FOD prevention and 5s principles
  • Experience with AS Registrar and customer audits for AS certification
  • Experience in performing FAIs with and without Net-Inspect

Salary range is: $ 64,480- $ 83,200 per year.
