dB Control Promotes 27-Year Industry Veteran Fred Ortiz to Executive Vice President; Ortiz Continues to Lead Efforts on Large-Scale Systems Program, Now Also Manages Day-To-Day Operations

Fremont, Calif. – dB Control Corp., an established manufacturer known for its reliable, high-power microwave amplifiers, radar transmitters and power supplies, has promoted Fred Ortiz to executive vice president. Previously dB Control’s business development manager, Ortiz will continue to manage the production of traveling wave tube amplifiers (TWTAs) for a large-scale systems program. In his new capacity, he will also oversee the overall development and production of next-generation microwave products throughout the company.

“Fred has been an instrumental leader for one of the largest programs in dB Control’s history. He is tremendously customer focused and understands the military and commercial solutions needed. His willingness to prove that dB Control will do whatever it takes will strengthen relationships and enhance our reputation,” said dB Control CEO Joe Hajduk. “With 27 years in the TWT industry, Fred has the business experience and technical know-how to manage day-to-day operations and the industry connections to help us grow. I’m confident he’s the best person for the job.”

Ortiz will oversee several departments, including business development, marketing, engineering, manufacturing, program management, production engineering and test. In 1984, Ortiz began his career with Varian (now Communications & Power Industries), and was promoted to a variety of managerial positions ranging in scope from customer service, new product marketing, program management, transmitter operations to sales management. An active member of the Association of Old Crows (AOC), Ortiz is certified for Just in Time (JIT) manufacturing and as a Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award-trained auditor.
