Shandas Named to SPIE Committee

Meppalli Shandas Named to 2009 SPIE Radar Sensor Technology XIII Conference Project Committee

July 17, 2008 – Fremont, Calif. dB Control, an established manufacturer of reliable, high-power microwave amplifiers, radar transmitters and power supplies, announced today that dB Control Vice President Meppalli Shandas has been named to the Project Committee for the annual SPIE Radar Technology XIII Conference to be held in April, 2009 in Orlando, Florida. SPIE is an international society advancing an interdisciplinary approach to the science and application of light. Shandas will join 17 other committee members, all well respected within their fields, to determine the presentation abstracts and manuscripts that best showcase the latest in radar advancements.

“Shandas has more than 35 years experience designing microwave hardware for EW, radar, and communication systems. I have no doubt he will be a valuable addition to the committee,” said dB Control CEO Joe Hajduk.

Shandas was one of leading contributors to the Tri-Service Microwave Power Module Program managed by the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) in the early 1990s where the MPM was invented. He continued to champion MPM technology and introduced new products throughout his career with Varian (now CPI). After joining dB Control in 1999, Shandas was critical to the development of an entire line of MPMs featuring unparalleled performance and reliability.
